Jessica Glesby
As a teaching candidate Jessica Glesby won the winter 2009 Kay Norgan Meek Scholarship in Education and graduated from UBC’s BEd Art Cohort (2009). She taught art, ceramics, textiles, photography, graphics and social studies on her practicum. Her popular graffiti knitting unit plan, along with student examples can be found at identityschool.org. Although the Vancouver School Board hired her as an educator on call upon her graduation, Jessica took a leave of absence to obtain a Masters of Arts in Art Education from Boston University (Class of 2011). She is now attempting to complete the two-year program in one year before returning to teach for the Vancouver School Board. Jessica's pre-BEd degree background includes a Bachelor of Media Arts from Emily Carr University (2007) and travel to over 19 countries.
