Community-supported Agriculture (CSA) at UBC's Orchard Garden

This summer, the Orchard Garden is embarking on their first CSA. For those unfamiliar, a CSA is a great way to support local farmers and get fresh, weekly produce throughout the growing season. The customer pays up front to provide capital for small farmers and then picks up produce once a week from mid-June to the end of September.

Hear From Our Grads: Mike Page, Lindsay Scruton and Carly Wenner

Mike Page is a recent grad from the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program (WKTEP). He shares his post-BEd experience as a current grade 6/7 split and music teacher in the Kootenay-Columbia School District.

Lindsay Scruton knew she wanted to return to China after the 2008 Olympics. She applied for a position with Maple Leaf Schools at the Career Fair, while still a teacher candidate, and within a few months was signing a contract to teach in Tianjin, China. Read how far Lindsay's teacher education has taken her in Hear From Our Grads.

Carly Wenner, a 2011 Secondary BEd program graduate, is currently living in Singapore, where she teaches World History and English at a public secondary school. She connected with her current employers at the BEd Career Fair that takes place every January in the UBC SUB.

Early Learning Facilitators Needed for
The Camp BOOST Early Learning Camps

The Camp BOOST Early Learning Camp is for children aged between 4 and 6 who would benefit from additional opportunities to build on foundational skills for literacy, including oral language, oral story telling and group interaction. One full-time facilitator is required for each camp.
