This summer, the Orchard Garden is embarking on their first CSA. For those unfamiliar, a CSA is a great way to support local farmers and get fresh, weekly produce throughout the growing season. The customer pays up front to provide capital for small farmers and then picks up produce once a week from mid-June to the end of September.

Mike Page is a recent grad from the West Kootenay Teacher Education Program (WKTEP). He shares his post-BEd experience as a current grade 6/7 split and music teacher in the Kootenay-Columbia School District.
Lindsay Scruton knew she wanted to return to China after the 2008 Olympics. She applied for a position with Maple Leaf Schools at the Career Fair, while still a teacher candidate, and within a few months was signing a contract to teach in Tianjin, China. Carly Wenner, a 2011 Secondary BEd program graduate, is currently living in Singapore, where she teaches World History and English at a public secondary school. She connected with her current employers at the BEd Career Fair that takes place every January in the UBC SUB.

Breaking New Ground VideoThe Camp BOOST Early Learning Camp is for children aged between 4 and 6 who would benefit from additional opportunities to build on foundational skills for literacy, including oral language, oral story telling and group interaction. One full-time facilitator is required for each camp.
There are seven full-time positions available.

Camp BOOSTHomeschool two children, an 8 and a 10 year old for Grades 4 and 6, aboard a Super Yacht sailing around the world. Must be able to teach traditional Chinese (Putonghua reading and writing) for Grades 4 and 6 at a level taught in local Chinese schools, and have a solid understanding of Math and English.
